A new report from Statistics Canada titled Year in Review is showing a large disparity between COVID-19 mortality rates in Canada's most racially diverse neighbourhoods and its neighborhoods with overwhelmingly white populations. From CBC:

The most racially diverse neighbourhoods in Canada reported COVID-19 mortality rates more than twice as high as those reported by districts that are overwhelmingly white, according to new data released Wednesday by Statistics Canada.

The City of Toronto released a new dashboard with data on how people enter and exit the shelter system, known as Shelter System Flow, that will be used to inform ongoing efforts to develop permanent solutions to address homelessness.

Statistics Canada have announced that they are planning to hire 32,000 new employees in preparation for the 2021 Census. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the census will be conducted contact-free where possible, with respondents being encouraged to complete the survey online, on paper or by phone.

Canadian cities are taking the brunt of the health and economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, but there isn’t enough detailed data about the virus to understand the full impact and devise local solutions, according to a new report.
