The Open Database of Educational Facilities (ODEF) is an open data collection containing information on approximately 19,000 educational facilities across Canada. It includes the names, types, and addresses of these facilities, compiled from open sources and publicly available data with permission. Released under the Open Government Licence - Canada, the ODEF primarily sources data from municipal and provincial government portals and webpages. It aims to enhance access to a harmonized collection of educational facility addresses and is part of the Linkable Open Data Environment (LODE).
The database is in CSV (comma-separated values) format.
The ODEF was created by gathering the microdata on educational facilities from open data portals, provincial or territorial websites (with permission from the data owners), and one federal department.
