Michael Adams on the long form census, brave nerds, and the Community Data Program
Last week Environics Institute President Michael Adams spoke at the Caledon Institute of Social Policy. His speech, thoughtful, poignant, and at times witty, lamented the federal government's decision to scrap the mandatory long-form census. By contrast, Adams applauded the "brave Canadian nerds" who have "championed good data". Nerds like top brass at the Community Data Program:

2012 Community Data Canada Roundtable Roundup
On June 20th, community data users and providers from across Canada came together for the third annual Community Data Canada Roundtable. A free, fully-bilingual event, the 2012 Roundtable was the first to be held as both a face-to-face meeting and a virtual event.
