This is the aggregated public listings data from online rental housing listing platforms. This data drives the Dashboard - Community Rental Housing Affordability, Version 2.0. The data was collected during September, October, and November of 2024 (Version 1.0 data) and during January, February, and March 2026 (Version 2.0 data). The aggregated data provided here contains the following columns:
UID, Geography Name, Level of Geography, Province, CD/CMA/CA, Bedrooms, Short Term, Dwelling Type, Date, Average Rent, % Change Avg Rent, Median Rent, % Change Med Rent, Count, % Change Count, Average Size, Median Size
The levels of geography available are:
- Canada
- Provinces and territories (PR)
- Census division (CD)
- Census subdivision (CSD)
- Census Metropolitan Area (CMA)
- Census Tract (CT)
The dwelling types available are:
- All
- Apartment
- Basement
- Condo
- Complex
- House
- Townhouse
- n/a
The # of bedrooms available are:
- All
- 4+
- 3
- 2
- 1
- Studio
- Room
Areas with a count of less than five have been removed.
Rows are only populated where there is data, if no data exists for a given location or aggregate grouping then there will be no associated row.
