As a Community Impact organization, United Way of Chatham-Kent engages volunteers, corporate partners, agencies and citizens to define and implement cumulative, measurable change to improve lives, build resilient communities and mobilize collective action throughout Chatham-Kent. An established and well-respected charity, United Way of Chatham-Kent brings people, organizations and resources together to improve the quality of life for residents of this community. Serving a population of over 100,000 residents, United Way is recognized for its leadership in the voluntary sector, for its long-standing role in community planning and in leveraging resources to change conditions and build and enhance community resources. Through unique partnerships and approaches, United Way mobilizes resources beyond the dollars that are pledged through fund-raising efforts. Community partners include government, schools, business, labour, voluntary and neighbourhood associations.
