The Linkable Open Data Environment (LODE) is an exploratory initiative that aims to enhance the use and harmonization of open micro data primarily from municipal, provincial, and federal sources. The result is a collection of datasets released under a single open data license (Open Government License - Canada), as well as open-source tools used to process the data and collaborations in an open space.

Joseph Kuchar is the leading analyst on the Linkable Open Data Environment initiative at Statistics Canada. Joseph holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Ottawa and has been with Statistics Canada since 2019. He is interested in leveraging open data to close data gaps for the benefit of communities across Canada. Join CDP on September 28th to hear Joseph provide an overview and demonstration of the benefits and uses of the LOBE.
