We recently acquired and catalogued 2011 National Household Survey (NHS) Profiles for all of Canada down to the census tract (CT) and dissemination area (DA) level.

The two tables include tracts and areas that have Global Non-Response (GNR) rates greater than 50 percent.  Fifty percent is the threshold Statistics Canada uses to determine whether or not to publish a given geographic unit's NHS data on their website.  This is why the CT-level Profiles available on Statistics Canada are missing several tracts.  (Last we heard, Statistics Canada has no plans to release DA-level Profiles on their website.)

The Profiles we ordered provide the GNRs for each CT and DA.  Please check the GNRs for the geographic units you intend to use, and exercise caution when using these tables and any NHS data.  We will release a short data guide later this year, to help you understand how to use (and not use) the NHS.  In the meantime, feel free to peruse Statistics Canada's more comprehensive guide to the NHS.
