  1. Update on CSDS response to announced changes to Census 2011
  2. Actions to be taken:
    • SUMMER-time: Spend the summer getting the word out via social networks; providing key messages; and access to relevant information; build alliances and partnerships on the subject; work with media to focus on how this issue affects Canadians.
    • SEPTEMBER: Anticipate re-engaging with the issue in September.
    • CBC Media (Wendy Mesley) - Peggy
      • Tell the story in terms of what it means for main street
      • Tie with recovery efforts
    • Leaders of the Opposition Initiative - Peggy
      • Modify the Stats Act?
      • Bring a separate bill?
    • Tool-Kits Letters – Wendy, Harvey, Federico
      • Help keep the message alive with the press
      • Copy Leaders of the Opposition
      • Cross-referencing when possible

  3. Fast-tracking the launch of a new CSDS website as THE go-to place for small area data issues: social networking hub
    • Aim for hard launch of website no later than mid-September
    • Principal audience for the CSDS website is CSDS CONSORTIA MEMBERS
    • A secondary audience is members of prospective consortia
    • Website development must include better integrating CCSD.CA and CSDS.CA Beyond existing CSDS users, need to reach prospective users.
