Database/Data product: General Social Survey (GSS)

Data provider: Social and Aboriginal Statistics Division, Statistics Canada

Description: “The two primary objectives of the General Social Survey are: to gather data on social trends in order to monitor changes in the living conditions and well-being of Canadians over time; and to provide information on specific social policy issues of current or emerging interest. GSS is conducted annually with topics repeated on a roughly five-year cycle. The history of GSS data collection is outlined below.”
