Inventory of Community Data Sources

Database/Data product: Vital Signs

Data provider: Community Foundations of Canada

Description: Vital Signs is an annual check-up conducted by community foundations across Canada that measures the vitality of communities, identifies significant trends, and assigns grades in at least 10 areas critical to quality of life. Originally developed by the Toronto Community Foundation, the Vital Signs project is coordinated nationally by Community Foundations of Canada.

Vital Signs Canada provides the national data on each 2007 indicator and a context for the local, more detailed reports in Vital Signs communities. In 2007, there were local reports for 11 communities.
