Description: The Australian Census is similar to Canada’s and is conducted every five years. There are several products designed for small area data users based on the Census.
The Census Products include:
- QuickStats, a summary of key Census data for a chosen area, benchmarked against Australia;
- MapStats, a series of thematic maps showing the distribution of Census data for a chosen location;
- Census Tables: individual tables of Census data, available on a range of topics, for a chosen location;
- Community Profiles: a collection of various tables showing Census data in detail, for a chosen location.
Geographic units available: Twenty-one different levels of geography are available including Census collection areas and postal codes. These products are searchable by any of the following: address, postal code, place name, state or capital city, map, or geographic level.
