We are pleased to share the York Region Immigration Settlement Strategy which includes a long-term vision to support the overall well-being of both newcomers and long-term residents. The Strategy builds on York Region’s reputation as a welcoming and inclusive community and identifies priorities to help newcomers fully integrate into the community economically, socially, culturally, civically and politically

The Strategy was developed in collaboration with the Community Partnership Council and almost 2,000 community stakeholders, long-term residents and newcomers. The Strategy is part of the Local Immigration Partnership (LIP) initiative and is funded by the Government of Canada through Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Online versions of the York Region Immigration Settlement Strategy and the Local Immigration Partnership: Consultation and Literature Review report are available on York Region’s Immigration Portal at http://www.yorkwelcome.ca under the Local Immigration Partnership tab.

The immigration portal is a one-stop community-based website for newcomers and anyone who is new to York Region. It provides information about living, working and learning in York Region.
