Led by the Northern Policy Institute (NPI), the (Rest of) Northern Ontario Community Data Consortium is CCSD’s 30th consortium to be established within the CDP. NPI is Northern Ontario’s independent think tank, enhancing Northern Ontario’s capacity to take the lead position on socio-economic policy that impacts Northern Ontario, Ontario, and Canada as a whole. The organization includes staff in Sudbury, Sault Ste-Marie, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Kenora and Timmins. This consortium represents communities with a population of nearly 500,000 (487,904 in 2011). It includes all of Northern Ontario with the exception of Greater Sudbury and Parry Sound-Nipissing, each of which is already represented by a Community Data Consortium.

The CCSD’s CDP now includes consortia representing 18.6 million Canadians (56% of all Canadians), and 86% of Ontario’s population.
